Abstract

The study begins with the idea that both classical and international, also and global political economies are linked to periods of globalization of economies and they explain and justify them. The basic point is that we are now at the beginning of a new stage of economic development, when a series of factors are launching a de-globalization, in which digital technologies and the creation of new digital curtains between countries are particularly important. The proposed approach is historical, systematic and politico-economic - based on the idea of systemic contradictions of the global economic system, which are combined with the rise of new digital technologies, which creates preconditions for its change. By summarizing the existing trends, major groups of factors are outlined, explaining the prospects for this development - the sharp increase in inequality, the rise of digital sovereignty and techno-nationalism, the de-globalizing potential of new technologies, the growing risks, cyberwarfare and technological wars. The conclusion is that the result of these processes in the coming years will be the rise of national and regional digital economies.
